Listen to former employees and family members from Northern State share their stories and memories of the hospital during its working days, including a question and answer time. Books available for purchase.

Share Your Memories

Schedule a short appointment on August 12 or 13 to record your memories with museum volunteers, who will ask simple questions about what you remember about Northern State Hospital and make a recording. We want to preserve these memories! To make an appointment, call the Skagit Historical Museum at (360) 466-3365. Can't come August 12 or 13? Call to set up a separate session.​

Bring Your Artifacts

Have an object or item connected to the hospital? Museum volunteers will be taking photos of artifacts. Bring your item to share, and take it home with you again.​

Scan Your Photos

 Have photos of Northern State Hospital from years gone by? Bring your photos to the event! Museum volunteers will carefully scan your photos, record the story behind them, and return them to you.​

Take a Self-Guided Tour

Enjoy an outdoor self-guided walking tour of Hub Drive with a booklet detailing the history and function of the buildings.​

Events meet in the Coleman Building on Hub Drive at the Swift Center (Northern State Hospital Campus). Parking lot available to the east of the chapel. Access to other buildings prohibited; please respect the campus and the historic buildings so we can host events in the future.
